About The Nutrient Analysis Lab

The Nutrient Analysis Laboratory at Rutgers provides professional analysis and quality assured data.  The data is provided to researchers, natural resource managers, educators, and other coastal decision makers.   These types of data are critical indicators of environmental conditions for numerous estuarine species and provide insight and understanding of NJ’s estuaries and how they function and change naturally over time.

Project support...

The Nutrient Analysis Laboratory provides water quality analysis for local projects associated with New Jersey's waterways including the Raritan River and Barnegat Bay.  The laboratory also provides services in support of National projects and programs including the National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS) in direct association with Rutgers' Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve (JCNERR) site in Tuckerton, NJ.  JCNERR, which receives funding from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), is part of a network protected for long-term research, water-quality monitoring, education and coastal stewardship.
